Classics Illustrated is being revived.

According to USA Today, Classics Illustrated, the series of illustrated editions of classic novels that ran from 1941 to 1998 is being revived by Papercutz.

My earliest exposure to Nickolai Gogol, Jane Austin, Alexander Dumas, and Shakespeare came from Classics Illustrated, which I read voraciously in the early 60s. Long before the term “graphic novel” was coined, Classics Illustrated was bringing out and making accessible to children graphic novel versions of novels.

I think they are a great way to introduce children to literature. I am glad to see them return.
