"My work may be garbage but it's good garbage." Mickey Spillane

Symphony for the Forgotten

Angeline Hawkes’ new collection, Symphony for the Forgotten, is now available at online stores like Amazon. com and Barnes and Nobles.

My blurb/description  for the book  was a bit lacking.  I was having physical difficulties at the time, but Angie grabbed the ball and kept it rolling by posting a lot more of the various blurbs and reviews she has gotten in a review on it.  I appreciated that.

My brain is turning over.

I now have a paypal business account, which is going to help a lot in keeping Daverana Enterprises going smoothly.

On the negative side, the cpu fan quit and it looks like the cpu is damaged.  I have ordered a new cpu, fan, and motherboard.  With the quad core boards and cpu dominating sales currently, I was able to get a dual core at a very reasonable price.

I have also backed up everything important onto my external drive.

    Sorry about the computer problems.
Keep XP. Don’t get Vista. It’s crap.

In three to four months, Widows 7 is out.
The Beta version tested near perfect.

I can’t wait. I’m getting me a new computer, too.

Sorry about the PC problems, Cuss. now I know why I haven’t seen much of you online. I’m lucky, my laptop came with Vista and I never had a problem. It’s almost 2 years old now and I’ve never had to reformat. I do have the Win & beta on it, and it’s all kinds of awesome.

I have Vista too and ok for me, but everyone else swears against it. Tis evil!

Vista sucks worse than gravity. I got a Vista box about six months back and it locked me out of my own system with no chance of password recovery. None. And that was within the first 15 minutes of me getting it home.

Yes, keep XP. Sorry to hear about your computer problems. I’ve had a few of my own hardware issues lately, but it was just my 6+ year old DSL modem that died. I was able to dredge up a really old Linksys external wireless card to plug into one of my desktop’s USB ports, but it doesn’t work very well downstairs, even parked on a windowsill, when I try to cadge onto a neighbor’s unsecured Belkin network.

On the other hand, my laptop’s built-in wireless card picks up the signal just fine upstairs — if, and only if, I’m in the guest bedroom with it. It can find, but not hold onto, the signal if I’m in the master bedroom. Verizon’s sending a new DSL modem, and billing me $50-some for it, which is a shame for DSL service I’ll only have for another month or two, but it beats the crap out of roaming around the house trying to find the best location for picking up someone else’s wireless router signal.

Next up, in the new house is cable modem service. Verizon tells me DSL isn’t available in that rural a neighborhood.

For running a machine’s factory installed hardware, Vista works, but it doesn’t handle older peripherals and their driver installation very well. Who needs the headache of fighting with a goddamn computer and configuration settings just to hook up an old Laserjet or a digital camera? If you want that nonsense, you might as well run Windoze [sic] 3.0, and use SCSI ports. I’m sticking with XP Pro until I end up having to buy a new computer.

Depending on the brand of computer, you might still be able to get it with XP. Dell has that offer, and my new laptop has XP on it by default.

My son partitioned our desk top so it runs both. I like the p better, but I don’t do a lot so I can work with vista ok.

    I need themes for vista.

I’m forced to use Vista every time I use a school computer. It does in fact suck donkey dick.
