Stephenie Meyer sued by teenage idjit

Well, Jordan Scott isn’t a teenager now, but she was when her book excerpt was published.  Trouble is, I can’t find a copy of the book by Jordan Scott anywhere.  I read the  pleadings/complaint from her attorney here.  While I am no fan of Meyers, I’m no fan of people suing authors over bullshit.

Read the complaint, but leave your mind at the door.  Otherwise you will need a gallon of mind bleach.

Oh wow, they’re just like mirror images of each other!

There’s no way Meyer could have come up with an arch at a wedding, sex on a beach, evil pregnancies without reading the other book!

That or she read books in general and watched movies. That kind of thing. Like everyone does.

I found elsewhere that Scott was just 15 when she wrote it. She’s 21 now.

You have to be fucking kidding me. By that lawyer’s logic you can never have a wedding scene, two people can never promise each other to be forever together, and there can’t be sex on the beach.

You know those scenes in The Simpsons where they’re about to do something and the lawyer comes in with a sudden cease and desist order?

Yeah, it’s kind of like that.

    That’s it exactly!

I represent the estate of Charlie Chaplin and I must insist you desist this charming impersonation.
Or something to that effect. 😉
